Piatti Quartet and Ina Boyle - CD Fundraiser

The Piatti Quartet are working to record a new CD with the label Rubicon Classics, featuring the premiere recording of Ina Boyle’s entire String Quartet in E minor, with a projected release in Autumn 2022.

The Piatti Quartet and The Ina Boyle Society are seeking to fund the creation of the CD. If you would like to make a donation, please kindly click on the link to the Piatti’s Paypal account.

Donators of £30 or more will receive a copy of the CD, upon release, with free postage.

Ina’s music will feature alongside her teacher Ralph Vaughan Williams and fellow students John Ireland and Ernest Moeran, in a programme that links composers with their teachers and pupils and also highlighting the close bonds between UK and Ireland.

The Piatti have intentionally chosen rarely recorded quartets that are deeply rooted in folk music and their lyricism. Michael Trainor, first violinist of the Piatti, believes that the new project will be “a pleasing and popular CD to listen to. It will also be tied with RVW's 150th anniversary which we think is a great launch for Ina's quartet as well.”

The Ina Boyle Society is excited to have such a highly regarded string quartet perform Ina’s music, and are thrilled to be working in partnership with the group. The Piatti Quartet are widely renowned for their ‘acute sensitivity’ and their ‘lyrical warmth.’ Since their prizewinning performances at the 2015 Wigmore Hall String Quartet Competition, they have performed all over the world and made international broadcasts from many countries.

Please see below the proposed programme of the CD:
