Introduction

Ina Boyle was a prolific composer. The majority of her huge output is still in manuscript form and unperformed.

The bulk of the collection was donated shortly after Ina Boyle’s death in 1967 by her cousin Doreen Boyle. The donation was arranged by Ina Boyle’s dear friend and fellow composer, Dame Elizabeth Maconchy in consultation with Brian Boydell, then Professor of Music at Trinity College Dublin.

Later in 1997, Dame Elizabeth’s daughter, Professor Nicola LeFanu, also donated Ina Boyle manuscripts to Trinity College Dublin.
