WB Yeats (1908)
Portrait by John Singer Sargent (1856-1925)
IBSL is excited to share the wonderful news that Ina Boyle's 'The Stolen Child' will be part of an extraordinary evening celebrating the literary genius of William Butler Yeats.
'I Dreamt I Dwelt' will be a collaboration between Irish Heritage UK and The London Yeats Society, celebrating Irish composers, W.B. Yeats, and Bedford Park’s heyday. This evening of music and poetry will feature a performance of Boyle's 1926 composition of Yeats's poem, 'The Stolen Child'.
“Irish Heritage musicians & singers join the WB Yeats Bedford Park Project in the Arts-&-Crafts splendour of St Michael & All Angels, Bedford Park (the Yeats family’s London parish church from 1879 to 1901, at the heart of Yeats’s boyhood London neighbourhood, a unique artists’ colony founded 150-yrs-ago by Dublin-born Jonathan Carr), in a programme celebrating the great Irish composers who dominated London’s music scene in this garden-suburb’s first quarter-century.”
Date: Wednesday, 22 October 2025
Time: 7:30PM - 10:30PM
Location: St Michael and All Angels, Bedford Park, Bath Road, Chiswick, W4 1TX
Boyle's composition is published in the songbook, Ina Boyle Selected Songs and can be heard in the album, Ina Boyle: Songs.
