Chamber Choir Ireland, alongside guest director Nils Schweckendiek (Helsinki Chamber Choir) present a beautiful concert of songs that explore a “universal search for peace and comfort in places both internal and external, including Ina Boyle’s Five Gaelic Hymns (1923-24).

The Ina Boyle Society are delighted that the most recent CD of Ina’s songs has received overwhelmingly positive reviews, and has enjoyed repeat broadcasts on BBC Northern Ireland, Lyric FM and Radio 3’s ‘In Tune’ programme.

Ina Boyle could scarcely have wished for better advocacy than her songs receive here. I suspect that Iain Burnside was the driving force behind the project, as he has been so often in the past. He has joined forces here with a fine trio of singers – fittingly, all three of them are Irish.

Violinist Benjamin Baker’s new album with pianist Daniel Lebarhdt on Delphian Records is being released worldwide! Benjamin gave a wonderful performance of the violin concerto on the first CD of Ina Boyle's orchestral music, which was so important in Ina's revival. The album will be available on streaming services and as a physical CD.

Soprano and Doctorate of Musical Arts candidate, Annie Barr McAllister, will be performing a programme of Ina Boyle’s songs, as part of the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music Student Artist Series on Friday April 23, 2021, 6.30pm.

Featuring as the first event of the TUD Philharmonic Society’s online festival, A Celebration of Women in Music, Emma O’Keefe spoke on the panel about women composers with a particular focus on Ina Boyle; alongside Dr Maria McHale and Dr Rachel Talbot.

Adrian Mantu, cellist and founder of the ConTempo Quartet (1995) in Galway has reimagined Boyle’s Elegy (1913) and Psalm (1927) using the typeset editions created as part of this project. The project aimed to reconceive and re-record a selection of historical Irish works originally written for cello and piano or cello and orchestra, this time for the unique combination of cello and accordion, with visual artwork.

The ConTempo Quartet will perform Ina Boyle’s Quartet in E minor [1934] in their concert which will be online from Triskel Arts Centre on Friday 23 April, 8pm.
